Privacy & data

The short version: GetInterest does not have your numbers. It cannot, because they never leave your device.

What happens to what you type

Every calculation on this site runs in JavaScript inside your own browser. Loan amounts, rates, tenures, deposit sums and investment plans are never transmitted to us, never written to a database and never logged. If you close the tab, they are gone.

Your inputs are written into the page URL so that a calculation can be bookmarked or shared. That URL only travels somewhere if you send it. Be aware that a shared link therefore contains the figures you entered — do not paste one into a public forum if the numbers are sensitive.

What we do store

  • A theme preference and your last-used country, in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are readable only by this site.
  • Aggregate analytics via Google Analytics — pages viewed, approximate country, device type, referrer. This is used to see which calculators people need, not to identify anyone. Google's own policies govern that data, and a browser-level opt-out or an ad blocker will stop it.

Advertising

This site is free and is supported by advertising. Ad space is reserved in the layout — you will see clearly marked placeholders where creatives will appear. When advertising is switched on, an ad network may set cookies or similar identifiers subject to its own privacy policy and to the consent choices available in your region. Advertising is kept out of the calculator inputs and never changes a result.

We do not sell personal data, because we do not collect any that would be worth selling.

The rate data

Bank rates shown across this site are indicative figures compiled from lenders' published rate cards, stamped with the date of compilation. They are provided for comparison and general information. They are not financial advice, not an offer, and not a quote. Your actual rate depends on your circumstances and on the lender's assessment. Confirm any figure with the bank before acting on it.
